My name is and I am a high school student at the Christelijk Lyceum in Zeist, a town in the Netherlands, just outside the city of Utrecht. My school is a bi-lingual one and I have been following the bi-lingual programme for 4 years now. The major activity of our senior years is an overseas work experience placement of a week and this is the reason I am writing to you/your company/organisation.
(Name of the company) interests me greatly as I am ………/take part in…./are involved with…..It would be a wonderful opportunity for me to spend a week………and I would be very grateful for the chance to experience/take part in/ improve….. The specific task is not of major importance, what matters is that I am involved in a real work situation in an English speaking environment and that I have contact with fellow workers preferably in a team situation. The timing of the week is very flexible, only four test weeks are not available to us but holiday weeks are a definite possibility. It is the intention that the work experience week takes place in the school year 2007-2008.
